Delhi to Leh – Arrival and Journey Briefing

  • Please make your own way from Delhi to Leh, we recommend booking a domestic flight 
  • Rest upon arrival and receive a comprehensive briefing for the upcoming adventure.

Leh Acclimatization and Training

  • Stay locally in Leh for acclimatization.
  • Receive riding training for the challenging mountain roads.
  • Visit Tskay Monastery and enjoy lunch amidst breathtaking surroundings.

Lamayuru Exploration

  • Travel to Lamayuru along main, good quality road surfaces as we wind through the mountains, hitting straight stretches through the Magnetic Hills.
  • Enjoy lunch near the monastery and explore local sites upon arrival.
  • We will rest nearby to Lamayuru monastery.

Temisgam Mountain Adventure

  • We take the back roads as we head to Timisgaam, conquering small mountain passes.
  • Experience more monastery views and connect with spirituality.
  • Enjoy a simple packed lunch under the shade of a khumani (apricot) tree.
  • We will rest in a comfortable hotel for the night.

Temisgam to Leh

  • Return to Leh from Timisgaam, taking smaller, backroads only known to locals.
  • Navigate wonderful twisting roads and engage in a combination of quality road and off-road riding.
  • We pass more spectacular monasteries & gompas (shrines) along the way.

Nubra Valley via World’s Highest Pass

  • Explore Nubra Valley, as we wind up through mountain roads.
  • Today we conquer the world’s highest pass – Khardung-La at 5605m.

Pangong Tso Lake

  •  We then journey on to the stunning Pangong Lake, conquering Wari La and Chang La mountain passes along the way
  • We enjoy a packed lunch on the road. 
  • An amazing and challenging day of mountain riding. An adventure to remember, and you will certainly sleep well tonight.

Nyoma

  • We leave Pangong via backroads, travelling on to Nyoma. Roads are good quality and it’s a nice straight ride along the valley floor. 
  • Tonight we stay in a good homestay accommodation.

Adventure to Umling La Mountain Pass

  • We venture up to to Umling La Mountain Pass, navigating winding roads with far-reaching views.
  • Enjoy a packed lunch from the mountain top.
  • We return to our home-from-home cottage for the night in Nyoma.

Tso Moriri Glassy Lake

  • Experience the breathtaking Tso Moriri glassy lake.
  • If we’re lucky we might spot wild snow leopards during our lunch stop.
  • After lunch, we enjoy a stretch of offroad riding.

Tso Kar Lake and Local Connections

  • Visit Tso Kar Lake with aquamarine waters and far-reaching views.
  • Pass steamy geysers & if possible, we will say hello to the locals at the school.
  • We engage with both smoother, quality roads and some off-road riding.
  • Tonight we stay near to the picturesque lake.

Leh via Taglang La Mountain Pass

  • Journey back to Leh via the Taglang La Mountain Pass.
  • We take the main highway, with better quality road surface. 
  • Spend the evening in the enchanting city of Leh.

Local Riding in Leh and Monastery Visits

  • Explore Leh through local riding, visiting monasteries and gompas (shrines).
  • Enjoy our final meal in the Himalayan mountains.

Journey to Delhi – Homeward Bound

  • We will return you to Leh airport where you can conclude the adventure with your flight from Leh to Delhi/onward connections.

  • Fuel: Unlike most other tour companies, fuel costs for the motorcycles are included in the tour package and will be covered for the mileage of our tour itinerary. The motorcycles must only be used in accordance with the tour itinerary.
  • Border Fees and Permits: Fees or permits for border crossings are included in the package. 
Motorcycle Tour Exclusions:
  • Personal Travel Insurance: Travel insurance, including health and motorcycle coverage, is not included. Clients are responsible for securing comprehensive insurance for the duration of the tour.
  • Meals and Beverages: Only breakfast is included within the package. Clients should budget for meals and beverages (such as lunch and dinner) as this is not covered in the tour package.
  • Flights: Airfare to and from the tour starting point is not included in the package. Internal airfare inside India is not included in the package. 
  • Personal Expenses: Any personal expenses, including but not limited to souvenirs, additional activities, or optional excursions, are not part of the tour package.
  • Motorcycle Gear: Personal riding gear, such as helmets, jackets, gloves, and boots, is not provided. Participants are required to bring their own suitable gear.
  • Additional activities: Any optional activities or attractions are not covered and should be arranged and paid for by participants.
Riding Gear:
  1. Helmet: Ensure it meets safety standards and is comfortable for long rides.
  2. Riding Jacket: Provides protection against wind and possible falls.
  3. Riding Pants: Durable and protective against weather and road abrasion.
  4. Riding Boots: Sturdy and comfortable for both riding and walking.
  5. Gloves: Full-fingered gloves for grip and protection.
Clothing:
  1. Layers: Pack lightweight, moisture-wicking layers for varying temperatures.
  2. Waterproof Jacket and Pants: Protection against rain or unexpected weather changes.
  3. Thermal Underwear: Especially useful for chilly mornings and nights.
  4. Buff/Scarf: Protects against dust, wind, and can be used in various ways.

  5. Snacks: Energy bars, nuts, and dried fruits for quick bites.

  1. Camera: Capture the stunning landscapes.
  2. Power Bank: Keep your devices charged, especially if camping.
  3. Adapters/Chargers: Ensure compatibility with local power outlets.
Miscellaneous:
  1. Backpack/Daypack: For day trips and carrying essentials.

There is considerable offroad riding during this tour. If you’re unsure about this style of riding, please talk to us.

The highest pass on this tour is the “Umling La Mountain Pass” with an altitude exceeding 19,000 feet (around 5,800 meters). We do not recommend it for anyone with previous issues with altitude or pre-existing medical conditions. If in doubt, please talk to your doctor before booking with us.
